Everest trekking

Everest trekking
If you want to trek to Everest base camp then you will come across lukla sooner or later. It is the last airstrip before base camp (still another week and half away by foot) and is handy if you don't fancy the walk in or walk out from Jiri... which takes a week but helps you acclimatize. Lukla isn't the nicest of towns but supplies can be bought here for your trek and it's cheaper than the villages on route. Accomodation is cheap on the trek as long as you eat a meal in your lodge. If you don't have time for a trek (or the fitness) then walk for a day to Namache Bazaar, the last big town. It's a lovely place with plenty of walking potential short or long and is right in the heart of snow covered peaks. Laden Yaks and Trekkers from all over the world make this a really great town. The trek to the base camp has the most beautiful scenery ive ever seen and should really be in the top 10 of things to do before you die. Trek up Kala patar mountain and get a fantastic view of Everest, It's more than 3 miles above sea level!! Goyko Ri is also a trek worth doing and is so peaceful. You can get a magnificant view of the Himalayas and feel like you are on the top of the world
I had the most amazing shower of my life with a view of Ama Dablam (a fantastic looking mountain on route). The shower shed was freezing, the water was too hot to stand under and it was snowing, but it was beautiful and very relaxing!
Accommodations:
The further you get up the trek, the poorer the accomodation gets... but to be honest you just need a place to sleep by that point and don't really care. You may have to squeeze in with people, but the warmth is a good thing.

travelling Rara Lake

 travelling Rara Lake
The surface of Rara Lake is around 8 square kilometer and the perimeter 9 kilometer. The length of the lake is 5 kilometers and it is 2 kilometers wide, the altitude around 3060 meter and the max. depth is 167 meter.
Rara is an unique spot in Nepal. The lake is situated in the Rara National Park and because of its remote location and the violence/threat of the Maoists the lake has been visited by only few tourist in the last couple of years. Only in the second half of 2006 the situation improved and foreign visitors do not need to pay the high fee of around $100 per person to the Maoist anymore.

Elephant Safari

Elephant Safari

At the foot of the Himalayas, Chitwan is one of the few undisturbed areas of the Terai region which formerly extended over the foothills of India and Nepal, with its very rich flora and fauna. One of the last populations of single-horned Asiatic rhinoceros lives in the park, which is also among the last refuges for the Bengal tiger. Tourists usually do the elephant trek to see the rhinoceros living in the park and do guided walks into the park.

Gosainkunda and Helambu

Gosainkunda and Helambu

The Langtang valley is aptly called "the valley of glaciers". Here the mountain - view is spectacular. On either side of valley, mountains rise, soaring in to the sky. The valley offers pain forest, slow moving rivers and swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow- capped peaks, grassy downs and meadows strewn with daisies and wild primulas. In the upper part of valley there are snow bridges spanning angry torrents, high passes enveloped in mist, tiny lake with icebergs floating on them and water of crystalline brightness. There are also high mountains of solid ice. Gosainkunda, regarded as sacred land in Hinduism, is dotted with lakes atop the mountain, offering a quiet respite. There are few visitors outside of those who come for the summer festival.

Helambu: People here call themselves Sherpas but their relationship with the Sherpa of Solu Khumbu is distant. The dialects spoken are also different. People here follow the Buddhist religion so you will find many old Buddhist monasteries in the villages. Tarkeghyang is another Sherpa town along the way, which bears its own story. The town name means temple of "100 horses" and was taken from the name of a temple established in 1727 by a Lama (Buddhist monk) who was called on by the king of Kathmandu (Kantipur) to stop an epidemic. As his reward the Lama asked for 100 horses, which he brought here. The local temple, rebuilt in 1969, follows the Bhutanese style.

Langtang trek is on the area of Tibetan culture and home of Yak and Helambu trek is on the area of Sherpa culture. It is great combination of mountain and culture different. The trek starts from Sybru Bensi and ends at Melamchi Pul. From Sybru Bensi, you will follow the Langtang River to the east until you get to Kyanching Gompa (3,900).From here we trek to Tserkuri (5184m) and have an excellent view of mountain. Then we trek back to Lama Hotel then ascend to Gosankund, a beautiful holy lake on an elevation of 4200m. After spending night here we ascend to Lauribina -La Pass and come to Tarkeghyang and follow helambu trail. Clients carry daypack only and walk at their own pace.

The Helambu Circuit

The Helambu Circuit

A relatively low altitude trek, the Helambu circuit is one of the most convenient of the short treks close to Kathmandu . It can be completed in only eight days and is well supplied with teahouse. No special permits are required but an entry fee is charged for passage through the Shivapuri Watershed area. The local inhabitants in Helambu are predominantly Tamang with Sherpa people inhabiting the higher villages, particularly Melamchi Gaon, Tarkeghayang and Sharmanthang. While most of the trek is at altitudes below 3000 meters, the high point at Tharepati la pass is 3600 meters and can experience snow even during the main trekking seasons.

Special Helembu trek offer view of the Himalayan peaks to the north rhododendron and pine interspersed with cleared. Spend some time exploring around these settlements which are wonderful examples of the way of life of high country Nepali people. Particularly interesting are the local Helambu Sherpas who are quite distinct from their cousins from the Everest region.
